One of the worst things that can happen to an upwardly mobile office worker like yourself is dropping your mobile phone. Your phone isn’t just an extension of you, it IS you. Dropping your phone and smashing the screen is the modern day equivalent of being run over by a steam train. But fear not, because we have devised a few ways that you can make your cracked mobile phone remain the coolest looking item on your person despite the fact that you won’t have enough cash to get it fixed until pay day.
All you need is a few animated comic book character lock screen images, a keen eye for detail and some fortuitously placed cracks on your mobile phone’s touchscreen.
It’s almost worth smashing your phone on purpose for – almost!!
Saitama is the main protagonist from the One Punch Man comic book series. As well as being the most powerful hero in the publication, as the series title suggests, he is also able to defeat any monster he comes up against with a single punch. On this occasion however, he doesn’t seem to have made too much of a mess of this mobile phone screen does he?
2. Captain America
Captain America hails from the Marvel comics universe. He wears a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a nearly indestructible shield that he throws at his foes. If you’re lucky, he might just improve the aesthetic of your cracked phone’s screen by throwing his shield at you!
Despite having the appearance of a child, Meliodas is actually much older and is the main protagonist in the Seven Deadly Sins series of Manga comics. He is exceptionally short compared to other characters, with messy blond hair and a pair of emerald green eyes, but don’t let this fool you into thinking he won’t be able to render your tatty looking touchscreen half respectable until payday.
Whitebeard is reputedly the strongest pirate in the world and captain of the Whitebeard pirates. He hails from the Shonen Jump series of Manga comics and apparently has the power to create destructive earthquakes. Maybe it was him that made you drop your phone in the first place?
Another mighty Marvel Superhero, Spiderman has super strength and agility, the ability to cling to most surfaces, shoot spider-webs using wrist-mounted devices of his own invention which he calls his “web-shooters”, and he reacts to danger quickly with his “spider-sense”, enabling him to combat his foes. It’s a shame he wasn’t around to shoot out a net when you dropped your phone, then you wouldn’t need to put him in your phone as a screensaver.
6. Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha appeared in both the Naruto and Shonen Jump Manga publications and is leader of the famed Uchiha Clan of Ninjas. Madara has the ability to create illusions that undo any damage and injuries sustained during battle – it’s a shame he can’t do the same with cracked mobile phone touch screens really isn’t it?
Another of Marvel’s Marvels is Ironman. Part wealthy businessman, part playboy and part ingenious scientist – Tony Stark creates a powered suit of armour to help him defeat his enemies. You can’t help thinking that with all the cash he’s got, he could at least lend you some money to get a new phone screen before you get paid goddammit!
Ryu is the iconic main protagonist of the Street Fighter Series of video games and has been battling the likes of his nemesis M. Bison and Evil Ryu since the game was first released in 1987. Given the fact that he hails from the days of cartridge video games played on television screens, you’d think he’d look a bit happier about the high tech world of smartphones that he now occupies. Maybe he’s as upset about the cracked screen as you are?
