Domino’s pizza has just employed the services of several Transformers who will begin testing consumers’ reactions to having their pizzas delivered by self-driving vehicles.
Autobots Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Jazz, Prowl, Arcee, Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Bumblebee, have all signed contracts with the pizza delivery firm as it seeks to develop its automated delivery service that originally comprised of nothing more than a bloke in a Ford Fiesta with a radio controlled drone.
Domino’s Head of Automated pizza delivery Mrs. Anne Chovy said, “In previous tests we realised that simply having the pizza bloke stop outside your house and fly the pizza to your front door using a drone isn’t really an automated service, so we decided to go all in on this new fangled tech malarkey. Our CEO managed to persuade some of the transformers to front our new self-driving vehicle delivery service in between shooting what will surely be the 1000th Transformers movie next time around, and despite the initial shock of seeing a bright red articulated lorry turn into a 20ft. foot tall robot that hands you a spicy barbeque, pork and bacon pizza with cheesy garlic bread – most customers have given us fairly positive and constructive feedback.”
It is rumoured that Domino’s originally approached the Decepticons Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble, Skywarp and Shockwave to perform the initial trials, but as it quickly became apparent that they are seeking to wipe the whole of humanity from the face of the earth, the Autobots were considered a more reliable alternative choice.
It is hoped that the employment of Transformers will provide the added bonus of monetizing fake orders that often get phoned in by people attempting to stitch up their neighbours, as most people are likely to simply hand over the money after being told that they ordered a pizza by several tonnes of heavily armed sentient metal.
“Most of the Transformers have received five star reviews from customers for delivery time, politeness and order accuracy. A couple of our more perverted male customers have left silly comments like, ‘can you send Megan Fox around next time,’ in the comments section, but that’s to be expected,” Mrs. Chovy added.
