I am writing to tell you that you are required to attend a disciplinary meeting on Monday at 9am regarding tree planting which is to be held in my office.
At this meeting the question of disciplinary action against you, in accordance with Disciplinary Procedure, will be considered with regard to:
Digging up the pavement so that you can plant the designated number of tress as instructed by your job spec and then planting the trees right next to the hole you’ve just dug!
I enclose the following documents:
See Picture Attached.
The possible consequences arising from this meeting might be:
Verbal or written warning.
You are entitled, if you wish, to be accompanied by another work colleague or a trade union representative.
Manager – Public Highways Department
PS – Whilst the job sheet did indeed use the sentence: “once you’ve finished digging the hole, you may now proceed to plant the trees,” it was intended that the trees were to be planted in the hole that you have just dug – we will discuss the various ways in which you can better use your initiative at your next appraisal.
