Have you ever illegally entered another company’s premises and tried to mingle with your competitors in the hope of not being noticed?
If you have, you’re not alone.
Serial prankster Simon Brodkin managed to sneak onto the pitch at Goodison Park and warm up with the Manchester City squad before their 2013 away match against premier league rivals Everton.
Numerous Manchester City players including former goalkeeper Joe Hart, Kolo Toure and assistant manager David Platt looked on in confusion as Brodkin jogged along the touchline and did stretches in the guise of his dimwit footballer alter ego creation Jason Bent.
Dressed in an identical maroon strip to the rest of the City players and wearing fluorescent yellow boots, Brodkin managed to take part in the pre-match warm-up for about five minutes before being spotted and was subsequently escorted from the pitch by match officials. He was heard to say, “Come on, let me play. I’ve got 50 grand on me to score first,” before being handed over to police for pitch encroachment under the football offences act.
Have a look at the clip below and ask yourself what would happen to you if you tried to gate crash another company’s workplace whilst preparations were taking place for an important company event. It’s fair to say that you might not necessarily end up with your own comedy show on BBC3 as a result – or would you?
